Innovation Award 2025 to Elisabeth Kommisrud
Professor Elisabeth Kommisrud received the Innovation Award 2025 on Thursday during the Agenda Innlandet conference in Lillehammer.
Kommisrud is a professor at the Faculty of Applied Ecology, Agricultural Sciences and Biotechnology at the University of Innlandet.
According to the jury, she has built a bridge between academia and business and developed solutions that have resulted in new technologies and jobs with international recognition.
Her research has laid the foundation for new technology companies SpermVital AS and Cryogenetics AS, which compete globally.
Through long-term projects and initiatives such as Zygote and the CRESCO Center for Embryology, she has contributed to building research infrastructure and triggering investments of several hundred million kroner.
– First and foremost, I am very proud, happy and honored to receive this award, and it is also a bit surprising and inspiring. I started my career in the region, took a PhD in industry there, and really developed a passion for research. I am most proud of the technology I have developed and which is the basis for the companies SpermVital and Cryogenetics, says Kommisrud.
